About

Uulka answers one question: why is this trending right now?

Each day we look at what people in the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and other English-speaking places are searching for on Google. For the topics that matter to many readers, we write a short explainer that puts the plain answer first, then what happened, what you need to know, and what is not known yet.

What we are, and what we are not

We are an explainer site, not a breaking-news publisher. We do not send reporters to events and we do not break stories. We read published reporting from other outlets, cite it, and explain the context in our own words. Every page links to the sources it was built from so you can read the original reports.

How the pages are made

Pages are drafted with the help of AI from at least two cited sources and pass automated checks before they are published. Read the full process on the How we work page.
